Mōhalu Therapy, LLC is excited to offer social skills groups for all ages. Our preschool and elementary school aged groups are lead by an occupational therapist and a speech-language pathologist. Our teen and young adult groups are led by a PEERS certified speech-language pathologist. We offer low student to therapist ratios to maximize attention to each client and his/her goals.
Sessions are designed to be FUN and to help children learn to make and keep friends, communicate effectively with each other, and handle conflicts appropriately. Social skills are the basis for all future relationships and interactions in life. Learning these skills is crucial for doing well in school/work, having positive family and friend interactions, and building self esteem.
The curricula for each group is specific to each group’s needs and will target a variety of skills such as meeting and greeting friends, initiating and maintaining play and conversations, sharing and taking turns, resolving conflicts, etc. The individual needs of each client will be addressed within the group as well as resources provided to parents and social coaches to carryover skills at home and in the community.
